Ugly Potato Day Set to Feed Thousands in Cloverdale
Cloverdale, B.C. – Ugly Potato Day is back on August 9 at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, aiming to distribute 500,000 pounds of free produce to over 30,000 people. Organized by farmer Ty Heppell and sponsored by Odd Bunch, the event promotes food security and fights food waste by giving away imperfect but edible fruits and vegetables. While a Guinness World Record attempt was dropped due to logistics, the mission to feed local families continues. Free admission, pre-registration encouraged. Event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with family activities, a DJ, and food trucks.
