Surrey Teens Honoured with Be The Light Society Scholarships

Twenty South Asian girls from Surrey and nearby B.C. schools have received $2,500 scholarships from Be The Light Society, a non-profit supporting young women pursuing post-secondary studies. Recipients were chosen for academic success, community involvement, financial need, and resilience. Funds were raised at the group’s 2024 Diwali gala, with the next annual fundraiser set for Nov. 14, 2025, at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim.
