Hundreds Rally in Surrey Urging Gaza Ceasefire Now

Hundreds of Surrey residents gathered at Holland Park on August 16 to demand immediate action to end the war in Gaza. The rally, organized by local grassroots and peace groups, featured emotional speeches, including one from a 12-year-old who shared her experiences growing up in Gaza. Afterward, demonstrators marched to MP Randeep Sarai’s office to deliver a letter of demands. The protest came as reports surfaced that Hamas had accepted terms for a 60-day ceasefire, while Prime Minister Mark Carney reaffirmed Canada’s support for a two-state solution and plans to recognize the State of Palestine at the UN General Assembly in September 2025.
