Firefighters Raise Over $70,000 at “Ignite a Dream” Gala

The Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society (SFFCS) raised over $70,000 at the 11th annual Ignite a Dream gala on September 20 at KPU’s Cloverdale campus. The fundraiser, attended by over 300 guests including Mayor Brenda Locke and Councillor Gord Hepner, will support educational scholarships for local youth facing financial and personal challenges. Contributions were boosted by the Gary & Gail Grelish Foundation, which matched donations up to $30,000, along with support from sponsors and community partners. Since its inception, Ignite a Dream has awarded more than $500,000 in bursaries to Surrey students.
