Historic Orange Shirt Graduation to Fill BC Place in 2026

BC Place in Vancouver will host a historic Orange Shirt graduation on April 13, 2026, celebrating B.C.’s first K–12 graduates taught with residential school history fully integrated into their education. Organized by the Orange Shirt Society in partnership with provincial school districts, the event aims to fill the 54,000-seat stadium. Founder Phyllis Webstad says the ceremony marks a milestone in truth and reconciliation, honouring survivors, families, and empowering youth. Similar celebrations are planned nationwide in future years.
