The Delta Police Department has been ranked first in Metro Vancouver for impaired driving enforcement, according to MADD Metro Vancouver’s 2024 Top 5 Awards. Based on per capita enforcement data from July 2023 to December 2024, Delta led with 752 DUI actions—one for every 144 residents. Port Moody, Surrey, Coquitlam, and Langley followed. The City of Delta and Tsawwassen First Nation have received $80,000 in joint funding from B.C.’s Community Emergency Preparedness Fund to improve emergency notification systems and evacuation plans.
