Surrey City Hall came alive with colour and celebration on Sunday, Oct. 5, as hundreds gathered for the city’s annual Diwali Fest. The event, held under sunny skies, featured live performances, traditional food, and cultural activities such as rangoli art and diya painting. Organized ahead of Diwali’s official date on Oct. 20, the festival highlighted the spirit of light, unity, and community. Organizers and attendees celebrated Surrey’s cultural diversity, with representatives noting the event’s growth as a reflection of the city’s inclusive character. Supported by the City of Surrey, Diwali Fest continues to be a vibrant showcase of South Asian heritage across the region.
