Clara Ding, 14, from White Rock, has been named to Team Canada for the World Junior Girls Golf Championship, Sept. 15–20 in St. Catharines, Ont. The rising star has two major wins this season and will compete against golfers from 23 countries.
Vancouver FC Eagles secured a 3–1 home victory over Atlético Ottawa in the first leg of the 2025 Canadian Championship semifinals on August 13 at Willoughby Stadium in Langley. Michel Cavalcante opened the scoring, Ottawa equalized, but Hugo Mbongue and Nicolás Mezquida scored late goals to seal the win. Interim coach Martin Nash praised the team’s performance but emphasized the second leg in Ottawa on September 18 is still crucial. This win gives Vancouver FC a strong chance to reach the final of the Voyageurs Cup.
