Cameron Whitcomb Wins Big at CCMA Awards in Kelowna
British Columbia’s Cameron Whitcomb emerged as a breakout winner at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Kelowna on Sept. 13. The 22-year-old singer, known for Quitter and Gasoline and Matches, won both the Fan’s Choice Award and Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Other winners included Josh Ross, MacKenzie Porter, Jade Eagleson, the James Barker Band, and Owen Riegling. Whitcomb, a Nanaimo native and former American Idol contestant, called the recognition “one of the most incredible experiences” of his life.
