Surrey Car Wash Owner Reports Shooting, Extortion Threats

A Surrey car wash owner says his business was targeted after extortion threats demanding $50,000. Lovepreet Singh, owner of 1313 Car Wash on 84 Avenue, reported that shots were fired into his shop on August 18, followed by a theft of expensive equipment. Singh said he had received threatening calls days earlier and later saw armed men approach his home on CCTV. The incident is under investigation by Surrey Police Service, which has not yet confirmed whether it is linked to the wider wave of extortion-related shootings affecting South Asian businesses in Surrey, Abbotsford, Alberta, and Ontario. Singh said he and his employees are living in fear but remain hopeful police will identify those responsible.
