Federal Budget Backs White Rock Pier Restoration

The federal government has confirmed that White Rock’s historic pier will receive funding support as part of the 2025 national budget announced on November 4. The pier, originally built in 1914, still requires significant repairs and seismic upgrades following major storm damage in 2018. South Surrey–White Rock MP Ernie Klassen, who made the pier’s restoration a key priority after his April election win, called the funding commitment “a victory for White Rock.” While the final dollar amount has not yet been released, Ottawa says it is prepared to provide capital funding as local planning moves forward.
