On Oct. 5, Surrey’s High Fashion & High Tea fundraiser backs a new Options housing project with fashion, food, and community spirit.
A Glamorous Afternoon for a Cause
Surrey residents are invited to the High Fashion & High Tea fundraiser on Sunday, October 5, at the Empress Palace Ballroom in Newton. The event, running from 1 to 5 p.m., will feature a champagne reception, entertainment, and a celebration of fashion.
Supporting Affordable Housing Expansion
Funds raised will go toward Options Community Services’ second housing project with Habitat Housing Society. The new build follows the success of Habitat 81st, a mixed-use development opened in January 2024 that now provides 100 rental homes for vulnerable groups, including seniors, women fleeing violence, refugees, and at-risk youth.
Entertainment on the Runway and Stage
Hosted by broadcaster Nira Arora, the event will feature a fusion fashion show of South Asian and Western designs from Art of Thread and Armaan DBG. Guests will also enjoy performances by mentalist Randy Charach, live auctioneering by Howard Blank, a photo booth, and door prizes.
How Guests Can Participate
Tickets are available at $150 each or $1,200 per table of eight through highfashionandhightea.ca or by contacting Ginny Hasselfield at 604-813-6409. A social media contest using #HighTeaBuildingHope and tagging @OptionsCommunityServices offers participants a chance to win a $100 Keg gift card, with a winner announced October 10.
Local Leadership Driving Change
Options Community Services, based in Surrey, provides programs across Surrey, Langley, White Rock, and Delta. Earlier this year, the organization appointed Neil Arao as CEO, succeeding long-time leader Christine Mohr. The non-profit continues to focus on expanding housing access and support services for people in need.
