White Rock byelection to host final campaign meetings

White Rock byelection candidates will host three final all-candidates meetings Sept. 23–25 at the Community Centre and Star of the Sea Hall. Each session, beginning at 6:30 p.m., will feature open Q&A opportunities for residents. The Sept. 27 vote will fill two council seats left vacant after resignations by Ernie Klassen and Michele Partridge. Full event details, including moderators, will be announced Sept. 19.

Final events added to campaign calendar

White Rock byelection candidates have confirmed three public meetings in the final week of the campaign. The candidate-led initiative aims to give voters more chances to hear directly from those running for council before heading to the polls on Sept. 27.

Venues confirmed for three nights

The gatherings will take place at the White Rock Community Centre on Sept. 23 and 25, and at Star of the Sea Hall on Sept. 24. All events begin at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening to the public at the same time.

Opportunities for voter engagement

Each session will allow residents to meet candidates individually and take part in an open-forum style question-and-answer period. Organizers say the format is designed to ensure residents can raise local concerns and hear clear responses from contenders.

Seats to be filled after resignations

The byelection was called after former councillors Ernie Klassen and Michele Partridge stepped down earlier this year. Klassen was elected as the new MP for South Surrey–White Rock, while Partridge resigned citing health reasons.

Details to be released soon

Full information about moderators and event protocols will be shared by Friday, Sept. 19. Residents are encouraged to follow updates on the City of White Rock’s election webpage or reach out directly to candidates through the contact details listed there.
