Cakesgiving Brings Surrey Bakers Together for Sweet Swap

Two Surrey bakers are teaming up to host Cakesgiving, a community cake swap event on Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Just Cake Bakeshop in Cloverdale. Organized by Raveena Oberoi and Neely Rajput, the $20 ticketed event invites participants to bring a homemade cake, share their recipe, and take home slices from others. Tickets initially sold out in under 15 hours, but additional spots were later released on Eventbrite. Organizers say the goal is to connect home, professional, and hobbyist bakers while celebrating collaboration in the local baking community.

Surrey bakers unite for Cakesgiving on Oct. 19 at Just Cake Bakeshop, a $20 community cake swap event featuring shared recipes, networking, and sweet creations.

Local Bakers Launch Sweet Tradition

Two Surrey bakers, Raveena Oberoi of Just Cake Bakeshop and Neely Rajput of The Whisk Full Baker, are joining forces to host Cakesgiving, a first-of-its-kind community cake swap event. The gathering takes place Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Just Cake Bakeshop in Cloverdale (17957 55 Ave.).

Tickets Sell Out Quickly

Interest in the event has been overwhelming. Tickets, priced at $20 each, initially sold out in under 15 hours. Organizers later released additional seats after witnessing the strong demand. Tickets remain available through Eventbrite.

Purpose Behind the Celebration

The organizers say the goal of Cakesgiving is to foster collaboration and connections in Surrey’s baking community. “We wanted to bring together bakers from all walks of life, whether home-based, professional, or hobbyists,” Rajput explained.

How the Event Works

Each attendee is required to bring a homemade cake, a printed copy of their recipe, and a container to take home slices from other bakers. The swap ensures everyone leaves with a variety of treats while also learning new recipes.

More Than Just Cake

Alongside the swap, local vendors will be on-site to support with cake decorating and demonstrations. Organizers emphasize the spirit of learning and collaboration, highlighting that “when bakers come together, it strengthens both skills and community ties.”

A Growing Community Tradition

Described as “a delicious community cake swap where everyone brings a cake, shares a recipe, and leaves with slices of every sweet creation,” Cakesgiving is set to become a new tradition for Surrey’s baking enthusiasts.
