Glisha Shines at Filipino Fest with New Music

Surrey pop artist Glisha is stepping fully into music as her career. The 24-year-old has spent a busy summer performing at festivals, releasing new singles, and preparing her five-track EP, set to drop Sept. 19. Her latest songs, Time and Time Again and Coexisting, explore themes of resilience, self-discovery, and emotional growth.

Glisha

Surrey pop artist Glisha goes all-in on music with new songs, an upcoming EP, and a headline performance at Filipino Fest on Sept. 6.

A Summer of Songs and Spotlight

For Surrey-based pop artist Glisha, 2025 has been nothing short of a whirlwind. Between gigs, new releases, and prepping her upcoming five-track EP set to drop Sept. 19, the 24-year-old is officially living the life of a full-time musician.

This summer alone, she’s been everywhere—on stage, in the studio, and behind the screen managing social media, updating bios, and keeping her growing fanbase in the loop.

“It’s a lot to juggle,” she admits with a laugh. “But honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Music has become my whole world.”

The Story Behind Her Latest Song

Her newest single, Time and Time Again, digs deep into the emotional tug-of-war many creatives face: chasing dreams in a world that often prioritizes stability. With shimmering pop/R&B tones, the track captures both her doubts and her determination.

“I know I’ll always come back to music,” she shares. “Even when it’s hard, this is what I want to spend my life doing.”

With nearly 20 original songs already under her belt, plus a handful of crowd-pleasing covers, Glisha is building a catalogue that feels as personal as it is relatable.

Filipino Fest: A Homecoming Celebration

One of Glisha’s biggest highlights this year is performing at Filipino Fest at the Museum of Surrey on Sept. 6. The cultural celebration—filled with food, music, and community spirit—holds special meaning for her.

“It’s so bright and joyful, and I love connecting with people who share similar stories,” she says. “I get to bring a piece of my heritage into my set, which makes it even more meaningful.”

The festival, which often draws over 1,500 people, will feature a lineup of Filipino talents, including The Kuyas, Raffy Swap One, Argel MDR, Red Filos, and Ash Angel.

Adding a family connection to the day, the festival’s organizing society is led by none other than Glisha’s mother, Narima Dela Cruz, who proudly supports her daughter’s artistic journey.

Recognition and Rising Momentum

Born in Winnipeg and raised in Surrey’s Guildford area, Glisha has already made waves in the local scene. She was crowned Pop Artist of the Year at the 2024 Fraser Valley Music Awards and is a nominee for the 2025 YWCA Women of Distinction Awards.

Her other 2025 release, Coexisting, offers a euphoric dance-pop escape that blends heartbreak with empowerment. Produced in Los Angeles, the track reflects a personal moment of choosing growth over staying in an unhealthy relationship.

“It’s about turning grief into strength,” she explains. “Sometimes, walking away is the most powerful choice you can make.”

What’s Next for Glisha

With festival stages, new singles, and an EP just weeks away, Glisha is stepping fully into her artistry. Determined and driven, she’s not just chasing a dream—she’s living it.

For those who want to catch her live, Filipino Fest runs Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Museum of Surrey in Cloverdale. If her recent songs are any indication, the stage is where she shines brightest.
