White Rock opens an inclusive splash pad at Centennial Park on Aug 19, offering water play for all ages and abilities, backed by community support.
Opening Day Celebration
White Rock will officially open its newest summer feature — the Generations Playground splash pad — at noon on Tuesday, August 19, at Centennial Park, 14600 North Bluff Road. The launch invites residents and visitors to enjoy an accessible water play area alongside the park’s popular playground.
Inclusive Design for All Ages
The splash pad was created to serve people of all ages and abilities. Interactive elements include a spray cannon, a soaker dumping bucket, ground sprays, and a spray tunnel, ensuring everyone can participate in the fun.
Backed by Local Support
The project received donations and endorsements from the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation and the White Rock Firefighters Charity Association, reflecting strong community investment in accessible recreation.
Ahead of Schedule Delivery
Construction by GPM Civil Contracting Inc. began in late April and was completed ahead of schedule this month, enabling the city to unveil the attraction sooner than planned.
A Statement from the Mayor
“This splash pad is more than just a place to cool off,” said Mayor Megan Knight. “It’s a reflection of our values — inclusivity, connection, and play — and a space where all generations can come together.”
Where to Visit
The splash pad is located directly beside the Generations Playground in Centennial Park, offering a new way for families and friends to cool off and connect during the summer months.
