Fatal Canada Day Crash: Surrey Police Renew Witness Call

Surrey Police urge witnesses to a fatal July 1 crash to come forward, especially those who posted collision videos online. Investigation remains ongoing.

Fatal Collision on Canada Day Claims One Life

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is renewing its call for witnesses to a deadly Canada Day crash that occurred on July 1, 2025. The incident, which took place at approximately 4:10 p.m. at the intersection of 120 Street and 97 Avenue, involved two vehicles and resulted in serious injuries to three individuals.

Ongoing Investigation Following Driver’s Death

Following the crash, all three individuals were transported to hospital, with one sustaining life-threatening injuries. According to an SPS news release issued on August 1, that individual has since succumbed to their injuries. Police closed the intersection for several hours on the day of the collision to conduct an initial investigation.

Social Media Videos Spark Renewed Appeal

The renewed appeal comes after investigators became aware of videos circulating on social media that appear to show the collision. Authorities are urging those who recorded or shared these videos to come forward, as the content could provide critical evidence in the ongoing case.

Police Urge Public to Share Information

The SPS is specifically asking any witnesses—especially those with video footage, dashcam recordings, or surveillance from the area—to contact investigators. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502, quoting file number 25-54337 (SP). Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at www.solvecrime.ca or 1-800-222-8477.

Public Cooperation Crucial to Case Progress

This is the second appeal SPS has made in connection with the crash, the first being issued on July 4. Authorities stress the importance of public cooperation, noting that witness accounts and video evidence could play a vital role in determining the cause of the tragic incident.
