Amelia Boultbee: From Local Roots to BC Legislature

Amelia Boultbee, MLA for Penticton-Summerland, brings legal expertise and deep local roots to her role as Official Opposition Critic for Children and Families.

A Hometown Voice in the Legislature

Amelia Boultbee, elected in 2024, serves as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Penticton–Summerland under the Conservative Party of British Columbia. A lifelong resident and fourth-generation Pentictonite, Boultbee brings both hometown insight and legal experience to her post. She currently holds the position of Official Opposition Critic for Children and Family Development, reflecting her dedication to issues affecting families across British Columbia.

Rising Through Local and Legal Ranks

After completing high school in Penticton, Boultbee pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC), followed by a Juris Doctor degree from UBC Law School. Her professional background includes legal practice in downtown Vancouver and advocacy in veterans’ affairs, where she championed access to healthcare benefits for former service members. Her legal and policy knowledge laid a strong foundation for her future political career.

Committed to Public Service

Boultbee entered public service with a successful bid for Penticton City Council in 2022, where she gained firsthand experience in municipal governance. Her election to the B.C. Legislature in 2024 marked a transition to provincial leadership. As the Official Opposition Critic for Children and Family Development, she focuses on improving child welfare systems, family support services, and early childhood policy.

Representing Penticton-Summerland at the Capitol

Operating out of her Victoria office at the Parliament Buildings, Boultbee also maintains close ties with her constituents through her local office on Riverside Drive in Penticton. Her dual presence ensures strong representation both in legislative matters and on community issues affecting residents in the Okanagan region.
