B.C.’s Culinary Gems: 9 Hotel Restaurants Among Canada’s Best
British Columbia has solidified its place on the culinary map, with hotel restaurants across the province earning top spots in OpenTable and KAYAK’s list of Canada’s 50 best. From the buzzing streets of Vancouver to the tranquil shores of Kelowna, nine standout establishments are now recognized as more than just convenient dining—they’re destinations in their own right.
The celebrated list includes Vancouver’s Botanist, Notch8, ARC, and The Victor at Parq, all known for their elevated menus and premium hospitality. Over in Burnaby, ATLAS Steak + Fish continues to impress with its sophisticated atmosphere and flame-grilled excellence.
Beyond the Lower Mainland, Victoria’s Courtney Room and the iconic Tea at The Empress earned their rightful places. Meanwhile, Lakeside Dining Room at Hotel El Dorado in Kelowna and Brickworks in Whistler round out B.C.’s representation.
Dining That Defines the Destination
KAYAK and OpenTable’s joint research reveals how Canadians view dining as a core part of their travel experience. In fact, 64% of diners agree that hotel restaurants are for everyone—not just guests. Even more telling, 68% of travelers say a great in-hotel meal would influence them to rebook the same hotel.
Kate Williams, KAYAK’s Chief Communications Officer, summed it up: “Travellers aren’t just asking ‘Where should I go?’ – they’re asking ‘What’s on the menu when I get there?’” That mindset is clearly reflected in the growing demand for thoughtfully curated, on-site dining options.
Hospitality Meets Haute Cuisine
These hotel-based eateries aren’t just playing catch-up—they’re setting the bar. Many offer local ingredients, expertly crafted cocktails, and award-winning wine lists. Whether you’re a local looking for a new dinner spot or a traveler planning your next weekend escape, these restaurants serve more than just food—they deliver an experience.
So, next time you book a hotel, you might want to ask what’s on the plate before what’s in the room.
