Surrey Fusion Festival Wins Global Acclaim Again, Returns July 19–20 with ‘Flavours of the World’

Surrey’s signature cultural celebration — the Surrey Fusion Festival — continues to make waves internationally. For the second consecutive year, the event has received two major accolades: the 2025 Gala Award for Most Outstanding Spectacle, Fair or Festival from Special Events Magazine and the Esprit Award for Best Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative from the International Live Events Association (ILEA).

These prestigious honors mark a growing global appreciation for the event’s efforts in community engagement, multiculturalism, and entertainment excellence.

“This recognition is a powerful reflection of our city’s diverse and dynamic community,” said Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke. “It’s a testament to the dedication of our organizers and the vibrant spirit of our residents who bring the Fusion Festival to life.”

A Weekend of Culture, Music, and Food

Now entering its 18th year, the Fusion Festival will take place on July 19 and 20, 2025, at Holland Park in Whalley — a venue that transforms each year into a global village of sights, sounds, and flavors.

This year’s theme, “Flavours of the World,” will spotlight culinary culture from across the globe through 50+ cultural pavilions offering authentic food, traditional performances, and handcrafted goods.

The entertainment lineup features acclaimed reggae group Easy Star All-Stars headlining on July 19, followed by Punjabi superstar Miss Pooja on July 20. With eight live performance stages, attendees can also enjoy:

  • A Family Zone with activities for kids
  • An Indigenous Village and marketplace showcasing First Nations culture
  • Cooking workshops with global recipes
  • High-energy dance-offs and cultural showcases

Award-Winning Legacy

Since its inception in 2008, the Fusion Festival has amassed 16 national and international awards, solidifying its place as one of Canada’s most celebrated cultural events.

The festival continues to serve as a model for inclusive celebration, showcasing the rich multicultural identity that defines Surrey.
