Local Health Experts Launch Women’s Health Web Series

A new series of free, GP-led webinars is being rolled out in Surrey to help educate the public on women’s health conditions that impact millions across the region. The sessions are part of a wider initiative to improve awareness and access to medical knowledge on complex and often misunderstood conditions.

Upcoming Session Covers Hormonal and Reproductive Disorders

The next session, scheduled for Tuesday evening, will focus on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). The discussion will be led by general practitioners with experience in women’s health, and will include time for public Q&A.

Series Will Address Key Women’s Health Topics Throughout 2025

Organized by Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System, the webinar series will continue later this year with three additional events. Topics will include endometriosis, fertility, cervical screening, and menopause—each aimed at improving understanding and encouraging early intervention.

Public Health Goal: Awareness and Early Action

Vicky Williams, associate director for women and children at Surrey Heartlands, emphasized the importance of proactive education. “We are really excited to provide these free informative sessions for members of the public,” she said. “These are conditions that affect the lives of many of us every day.

How to Participate in the Sessions

The webinars are open to all Surrey residents and will be held virtually via Zoom, making it easy for participants to join from home. Registration details and schedules are available on the Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System’s official website and social media channels.

Broader Push for Community Health Literacy

The initiative reflects a growing commitment across the UK’s public health services to address gender-based health disparities and improve access to trustworthy medical guidance. Organizers hope the series will spark ongoing conversations between patients and healthcare providers.
