Sikh Nation begins 27th annual blood donation campaign across Canada
The Sikh Nation has kicked off its 27th annual blood donation campaign, uniting thousands of volunteers across 25 Canadian cities throughout November.
Organizers say the campaign reflects the Sikh community’s global message of compassion and unity: “Each November, Sikhs around the world reach out to ensure all humans live safe and happy lives.”
Surrey event details
Surrey’s donation drive will take place at Cloverdale Recreation Centre (6188 176 St) on:
- Nov. 7: 12 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
- Nov. 8: 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
The campaign remains one of Canadian Blood Services’ top contributors through its Partners for Life program, which encourages community groups to host blood, plasma, or stem cell donation events.
A legacy of saving lives
Canadian Blood Services praised Sikh Nation’s efforts, saying the initiative and its 10,000 volunteers have “saved and transformed thousands of lives.”
The first Sikh Nation blood drive was held in B.C.’s Lower Mainland in the late 1990s, and has since grown into one of Canada’s largest community-led donation movements.
