Jeremy Dutcher brings his award-winning music to Surrey
Two-time Polaris Prize-winner Jeremy Dutcher will make his Surrey concert debut on Friday, Nov. 14 at the Surrey Arts Centre’s Main Stage.
The Tobique First Nation musician is celebrated for fusing classical, jazz, and pop elements with traditional Wolastoqey melodies. Joining Dutcher on stage are percussionist Stefan Schneider and woodwind artist Naomi McCarroll-Butler, forming a trio for his B.C. tour.
A distinctive voice in modern music
Dutcher gained international acclaim with his 2018 debut album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa and his 2023 release Motewolonuwok, both of which won the Polaris Music Prize. Known for his operatic vocals and daring compositions, Dutcher’s performances are described as “a breathtaking blend of melody, emotion, and Indigenous tradition.”

The concert coincides with Surrey Civic Theatres’ switch to a new ticketing system, Spektrix, launching Nov. 12.
- Online tickets will be unavailable Nov. 7–12 during the transition.
- Tickets can be purchased by phone at 604-501-5580 until Nov. 9 at 5 p.m.
- The new system will introduce mobile ticketing and self-service features for future events.
