Springer’s Heroic Homer Launches Blue Jays Back to World Series Glory

George Springer’s clutch three-run homer in the seventh inning powered the Toronto Blue Jays past the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in Game 7, sending them to their first World Series since 1993. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. earned ALCS MVP honors as Toronto prepares to face the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

George Springer’s clutch three-run blast powers Toronto past Seattle in Game 7, sending the Blue Jays to their first World Series since 1993.

Blue Jays Soar Back to the World Series

Toronto is buzzing again. The Blue Jays are heading back to the World Series for the first time in more than three decades, thanks to a thunderous swing from George Springer that sent fans into a frenzy at Rogers Centre Monday night.

Trailing 3–1 in the seventh inning, Springer crushed a three-run homer off Seattle reliever Eduard Bazardo, flipping the score — and the script — in dramatic fashion. That single swing turned tension into triumph, sealing a 4–3 Game 7 victory over the Mariners and punching Toronto’s long-awaited ticket to the Fall Classic.

Springer’s Spark Ignites Toronto’s Comeback

Before Springer’s blast, the Mariners had momentum. Julio Rodríguez and Cal Raleigh each went deep early, giving Seattle hope of making its first-ever World Series appearance. Starter George Kirby kept Toronto mostly quiet through four innings, allowing just one run — a Dalton Varsho RBI that brought Springer home in the first.

But the Jays refused to fold. After Shane Bieber’s gritty start, the Toronto bullpen locked things down. Louis Varland allowed one run, but Seranthony Domínguez, Kevin Gausman, and Chris Bassitt combined for scoreless frames to steady the ship.

Hoffman Seals It, Guerrero Shines

By the ninth inning, Rogers Centre was roaring. Closer Jeff Hoffman struck out the side, slamming the door on Seattle’s dream season. As confetti filled the air, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named ALCS MVP — a well-earned nod after powering Toronto’s offense throughout the series.

What’s Next: A Clash of Champions

The celebration won’t last long. The Blue Jays now prepare to host Game 1 of the World Series on Friday at 5 p.m., where they’ll face the reigning champions — the Los Angeles Dodgers.

For Toronto fans, it’s been 32 years since Joe Carter’s iconic home run ended the 1993 World Series. Now, with Springer’s blast echoing through the city, the dream of another unforgettable October moment feels closer than ever.
