One of Canada’s Most Wanted Arrested in Metro Vancouver
A high-profile fugitive wanted for first-degree murder has been arrested in Metro Vancouver, police confirmed Tuesday (Oct. 14).
Pierry Philogène, one of Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives, was taken into custody after a short foot chase involving Metro Vancouver Transit Police and Vancouver Police. He was wanted in connection with the premeditated murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard on Dec. 22, 2021.
The arrest follows a tip received by the Transit Police Crime Suppression Team, which led officers to Philogène’s location Tuesday evening.
“Through the proactive work of our Crime Suppression Team, we are proud to have taken a wanted fugitive off the streets,” said Const. Amanda Steed, media relations officer for Transit Police. “We are committed not just to transit safety but to the greater community as well.”
Philogène had been one of five suspects still wanted by the Montréal Police Service (SPVM) and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) as part of the Alliance investigation — a major organized crime probe that has already led to the arrest of 11 suspects.
Upon his arrest, officers reportedly found a fake ID, and Philogène has been charged with obstructing a peace officer and possession of identity documents without lawful excuse.
Police agencies in Quebec and British Columbia provided differing reports on the arrest location — Montreal Police said Philogène was arrested in Surrey, while Transit Police confirmed it took place in Vancouver.
Philogène will be repatriated to Montreal to face the murder charge.
He had been listed by the BOLO program on Oct. 8, 2025, as one of Canada’s 25 most wanted criminals. Four suspects in the same case remain at large: Sacha Krolik (57), Mario Sollecito (54), Gianpietro Tiberio (52), and Jean-Ismel Zéphir (49).
