U15 National Soccer Championships coming to Surrey in 2026

Canada Soccer has chosen Newton Athletic Park in Surrey to host the 2026 U15 National Club Soccer Championships, showcasing top youth talent from across Canada.

Surrey will once again take centre stage in Canadian soccer.
Canada Soccer has selected Newton Athletic Park to host the U15 National Club Soccer Championships in fall 2026, a six-day tournament that will see top youth teams from across the country compete for national glory.

The Newton facility, one of Surrey’s largest and most advanced sports venues, will welcome boys’ and girls’ teams representing provinces from across Canada. The event follows this year’s 2025 championships in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, which begin Oct. 13.

Surrey Football Club (Surrey FC), which will serve as host, is celebrating the announcement.
“Our club has always been an inclusive leader in our community, promoting a lifelong passion for soccer,” said Sarb Lidder, executive director of Surrey FC. “Hosting the U15 Cup will not only bring more interest in the sport but will also showcase our excellence in training and developing young athletes.”

Surrey has built a strong reputation for hosting national-level tournaments.
Last year, Newton Athletic Park was home to the 100th edition of Canada Soccer’s Toyota National Championships, featuring the country’s top adult amateur teams battling for the men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy.

The city also hosted the Western Canadian Masters Championships in September 2024, where Surrey FC Pegasus captured the men’s title with a 2–0 victory over Team Saskatchewan.

Canada Soccer describes the National Championships as “a week of elite soccer and memorable experiences for players, coaches, officials, and host cities.”

Welcoming the 2026 event, Mayor Brenda Locke said Surrey continues to champion youth sport and sport tourism. “Newton Athletic Park is a premier sports venue with modern fields, seating, and facilities. Events like this strengthen Surrey’s reputation as a hub for national sport.”

The 2026 U15 Cup promises to inspire the next generation of players and boost Surrey’s growing presence on Canada’s soccer map.
