Vancouver FC extend their unbeaten streak to four, battling Hamilton to a draw and shaking up the CPL Shield race in style.

Vancouver FC Keep the Streak Alive

Vancouver FC are on fire! Saturday’s showdown against Hamilton saw the West Coast squad stretch their unbeaten run to four games, proving once again that this team means business.

It wasn’t an easy battle. Hamilton struck first, with Tristan Borges finding the net just before halftime. But Vancouver’s young gun, Emrick Fotsing, had other ideas. His cool, composed finish midway through the second half sealed the 1–1 draw—and another crucial point on the road.

Breaking Records in Enemy Territory

This wasn’t just any draw. Vancouver became the first CPL team to earn a point at Hamilton Stadium since June 29, and the first to score there since their own 2–1 loss on July 5. That’s no small feat.

The result tightens the CPL Shield race, shrinking Hamilton’s lead over Ottawa to just three points. For a team that’s been building quietly all season, Vancouver are suddenly right in the thick of things.

A Bold Move Pays Off

After a draining midweek clash in the TELUS Canadian Championship final against the Whitecaps, coach Martin Nash made a bold call—rotating his lineup heavily. Eight fresh faces stepped onto the pitch, many of them young and hungry to prove their worth.

“They just put their heads down and worked,” Nash said afterward. “We needed some fresh legs and energy, and the young guys delivered. Everyone had a point to prove, and they showed it.”

That trust paid off beautifully. Vancouver looked disciplined, confident, and full of fight—a perfect mix of experience and youthful flair.

Fotsing Shines Bright

The star of the night? Emrick Fotsing. Named Player of the Match, the rising star continues to make headlines with his energy and precision.

“It’s all about trust,” Fotsing said after the match. “We’ve changed the lineup before, and it worked. Everyone in this team has the quality—it’s just about taking your chances when they come.”

Fotsing’s words echo what fans already know: Vancouver’s depth is becoming their biggest weapon.

Next Stop: The Capital

Vancouver now shift focus to a massive clash against Atlético Ottawa on Sunday, Oct. 12. With momentum firmly on their side and spirits sky-high, expect another spirited fight from Nash’s men.

The message is clear: Vancouver FC aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
