The City of Surrey and the City of Delta are working together on a major roadway upgrade along 96th Avenue, with the project slated for completion by summer 2026.
The agreement, reached earlier this year, focuses on improving traffic safety and flow along the key connector route. The upgrades are expected to enhance commuter travel between the two cities, reduce congestion, and improve access for local residents and businesses.
Officials from both municipalities say the joint effort represents an important investment in regional infrastructure and will help address future population growth and transportation demand.
Details of the project include intersection improvements, roadway widening in select areas, and safety upgrades designed to support both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Once complete, the enhanced 96th Avenue corridor is expected to strengthen the transportation link between Surrey and Delta, improving connectivity in one of Metro Vancouver’s busiest regions.
