Aspiring filmmakers and content creators can now borrow Gimbal video stabilizers from Fraser Valley Regional Libraries (FVRL), free of charge for library members.

A new addition to “The Playground”

The stabilizer kits are part of FVRL’s “Playground” collection, which lends hands-on learning tools that promote creativity in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).
Other items in the collection include coding kits, robotics, musical instruments, and film accessories.

Enhancing creativity and storytelling

The Gimbal automatically balances and steadies a phone while filming, reducing shakes and bumps — ideal for vloggers, filmmakers, and beginners exploring mobile video creation.

“Libraries are evolving creative spaces,” said Heather Scoular, FVRL’s director of customer experience. “With tools like the Gimbal, we’re giving our community access to technology that inspires storytelling and self-expression.”

How to borrow

FVRL members can place a hold online through the library catalogue and pick up the kit at their local branch once it’s ready.
To learn more or watch the Gimbal in action, visit fvrl.me/gimbal for upcoming workshops and demonstrations.

The kits are now available at both White Rock and North Delta library branches — helping residents bring cinematic creativity to everyday life.
