B.C.’s First Costco Business Centre Opens Soon in New Westminster

Legendary sportscaster Jim Hughson, the iconic voice behind decades of hockey and baseball moments, has been officially inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. His 42-year career, spanning Stanley Cups, World Series, and Olympic Games, cements his legacy as one of Canada’s greatest broadcasters.

The new Costco Business Centre in New Westminster

Discover B.C.’s first Costco Business Centre opening Nov. 14 in New Westminster—packed with bulk deals, business essentials, and unique finds you won’t see elsewhere.

A New Kind of Costco Is Coming to B.C.

Get ready, Lower Mainland — a brand-new kind of Costco is opening its doors this month! On November 14, New Westminster will welcome B.C.’s first-ever Costco Business Centre, a store designed with entrepreneurs, restaurants, and offices in mind. But don’t worry — it’s open to all Costco members.

This isn’t your usual warehouse stop, though. Expect shelves stacked high with products you won’t find in a standard Costco — we’re talking everything from commercial appliances and restaurant supplies to bulk groceries perfect for large-scale use.

No Hot Dogs, No Bakery—But Plenty of Bulk Deals

If you’re heading there for the iconic $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, you might want to pause. This business-focused location won’t have a food court, bakery, or pharmacy. Instead, it’s all about efficiency and scale.

Costco enthusiast Andy Shen, known online as Costco Andy, got a sneak peek at the store. “It’s going to be very popular,” he said, “but some might be disappointed—no hot dogs at a Business Centre!”

Still, the deals are impressive. The opening-week brochure boasts a 15-litre bucket of mayonnaise for $49.99 and 25 kilograms of butter for $199. As the flyer proudly proclaims: “A different kind of Costco has arrived.”

Designed for Business—Open to Everyone

Located in the former Lowe’s store in Queensborough, the new Costco Business Centre is built for early risers. With “business-friendly hours” starting at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday (and 9 a.m. on Sundays), it caters perfectly to those running restaurants, catering businesses, or office supply operations.

While it’s aimed at business customers, any Costco member can shop here — no special business license needed.

A Growing Presence in the Lower Mainland

This is Canada’s seventh Costco Business Centre, joining six others across the country — four in Ontario, one in Quebec, and another in Edmonton. Shen, who toured the Alberta location, even shared a YouTube video walking viewers through aisles of industrial-sized essentials, from cleaning supplies to coffee machines.

Meanwhile, Surrey residents can expect even more Costco convenience soon. The city’s second warehouse — planned for 163 Street in South Surrey — is moving ahead, with council approvals already underway.

The Bottom Line

With its massive inventory, early hours, and focus on business-scale products, the new Costco Business Centre promises to shake up how both local entrepreneurs and regular shoppers stock up.

Whether you’re running a restaurant, managing an office, or just love buying in bulk, November 14 might be the perfect time to check out what this “different kind of Costco” has to offer.
