Repaving and inspection work planned; southbound lanes remain open
TransLink has announced an overnight northbound closure of the Pattullo Bridge into New Westminster on Thursday, October 30, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning.
The closure is required to allow crews to safely carry out repaving work on the Bridge Connector and the Royal Avenue off-ramp, as well as annual bridge inspections.
“Construction equipment will be positioned near both northbound lanes on the bridge, making the lane closures necessary,” TransLink said in a bulletin.
Pedestrian and cyclist access maintained
While northbound vehicle traffic will be halted during the closure, southbound lanes to Surrey will remain open. Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to cross the bridge northbound during this period.
TransLink advises drivers to plan alternate routes to avoid delays and thanks the public for their patience as maintenance and safety upgrades continue.
