Targeted Shooting Strikes North Delta Residence
Police are investigating a targeted shooting at an unoccupied home in North Delta early Sunday morning, October 19, raising safety concerns in the neighbourhood.
Incident Timing and Location
The shooting occurred around 5 a.m. in the 11300-block of 82nd Avenue, near North Delta Secondary School. Officers from the Delta Police Department (DPD) responded promptly after reports of gunfire at a residential basement suite.
Nature of the Crime
Authorities confirmed the incident appeared to be targeted but is not believed to be related to extortion. “Preliminary investigation indicates this to be a targeted incident, but it does not appear to be extortion-related,” said a DPD press release issued Monday.
Suspect and Evidence
CCTV footage captured a suspect wearing a dark hoodie and facial covering, as well as a white sedan linked to the event. Police are currently reviewing video evidence and working to identify those involved.
Police Investigation and Community Appeal
DPD officers are conducting door-to-door canvassing in the area and urging residents to come forward with any information. Authorities are seeking video footage from CCTV or dash cameras around the time of the shooting.
