UNITI Welcomes New CEO Designate Katie Crocker
South Surrey–White Rock-based nonprofit UNITI has appointed Katie Crocker as its new CEO Designate, as the organization prepares for the 2026 retirement of longtime CEO Doug Tennant.
Tennant, who has led UNITI for many years with what the board described as “vision, compassion, and innovation,” expressed his full support for Crocker’s appointment.
“Having worked closely with Katie on the UNITI Board, I’ve seen firsthand her deep commitment and strategic leadership. I’m thrilled to pass the torch to someone who truly lives our values,” Tennant said.
Crocker brings extensive leadership experience and a personal connection to UNITI’s mission, which focuses on affordable housing and inclusive community services for people with disabilities and the broader community.
For the past decade, she served as CEO of AMSSA (Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC), where she strengthened partnerships with government and advanced initiatives for equity and inclusion across the province.
Crocker is no stranger to UNITI — she has served on its board for three years, most recently as board chair, helping shape the organization’s strategic direction. As the parent of a daughter with a disability and a longtime local resident, her connection to UNITI’s mission runs deep.
Beginning this fall, Crocker will work closely with Tennant and the leadership team to ensure a seamless and thoughtful transition.
“With her leadership, we are confident UNITI will continue to thrive and strengthen its impact in the years ahead,” UNITI’s board said in a statement.
