Former councillor Scott Kristjanson launches White Rock mayoral campaign, promising transparency, accountability, and small-town charm restoration.
Kristjanson Throws Hat in the Mayoral Ring
Scott Kristjanson, a familiar face in White Rock politics, has officially announced his campaign for mayor in the upcoming municipal election on October 17, 2026. Having served as a councillor from 2018 to 2022, Kristjanson says his mission is to “restore accountability, transparency, and balance to City Hall.”
Experience Meets Vision
Kristjanson brings more than just political experience to the table. With years of project management as a software engineer, he believes he has the practical skills to tackle City Hall’s challenges efficiently. “White Rock deserves a mayor who listens to residents and local businesses — not developers,” Kristjanson said, emphasizing his commitment to community-focused leadership.
A Campaign Fueled by Past Lessons
Kristjanson ran in the recent September byelection for council, finishing third, just 88 votes shy of Susan Bains, who won one of two available seats (the other went to former councillor Anthony Manning). Reflecting on the experience, Kristjanson said it reinforced his belief that the city needs leaders who prioritize people over politics.
Promises to Residents and Businesses
“Let’s fix what’s broken, protect our small-town charm, and build a City Hall corporate culture that helps people and businesses succeed — not one that gets in their way,” Kristjanson stated. His campaign centers on improving civic services, supporting local businesses, and fostering a culture of transparency in municipal governance.
