Surrey’s Safe Software Donates $25K to Canucks for Kids

Partnership Brings Surrey and the Canucks Together for Good

A proud Surrey success story is skating into philanthropy this hockey season.

Safe Software, a Surrey-based technology firm founded in 1993, has partnered with Canucks Sports & Entertainment and the Canucks for Kids Fund (CFKF) for the 2025–2026 NHL season — pledging a $25,000 donation to help children and families across British Columbia.

The announcement came on October 7, just ahead of the Canucks’ season opener against the Calgary Flames.

Giving Back Through Innovation and Community

Safe Software, creator of FME — the “all-data, any-AI” enterprise integration platform — has grown from a small Surrey basement operation to a global leader headquartered in the Health and Technology District on 137A Street.

“As a proudly Canadian and B.C.-based company, we’re thrilled to partner with the Vancouver Canucks to make a difference in our community,” said Don Murray, CEO and co-founder.

“We’re especially honoured to support the Canucks for Kids Fund, which does incredible work to uplift and empower youth across the province.”

Shared Roots, Shared Goals

Both organizations have deep B.C. roots and a shared commitment to youth and family well-being.
The Canucks for Kids Fund has raised more than $114 million for local charities over the past 39 years — funding initiatives in education, health, and wellness.

This new collaboration will also give fans a closer look at how Safe Software’s data and AI solutions help organizations turn complex information into action.

A Made-in-Surrey Success Story

From its beginnings in a small office to a company expanding into the United Kingdom and Ireland, Safe Software continues to champion Surrey’s growing reputation as a hub for technology and innovation.

“Beyond technology, partnerships like this reflect who we are — part of a larger community, using what we’ve built to give back,” said Murray.
