IHIT Confirms Conviction in South Surrey Case
More than three years after a fatal shooting in South Surrey, a guilty plea has been entered in connection to the death of White Rock resident David Goldstein, 33.
Goldstein was shot in the early hours of April 6, 2022, at a home near 24 Avenue and 152A Street in the Peninsula Village area. He died in hospital two days later.
On Thursday (Oct. 9), Bryce Dallas Campbell, now 28, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in B.C. Supreme Court, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) confirmed.
‘A Step Toward Healing,’ Says IHIT
“Securing this conviction against Mr. Campbell was made possible by the specialized resources at IHIT, the persistence shown by the investigators, and our ability to work with our partner agencies,” said IHIT Sgt. Freda Fong.
“It is our hope that today’s proceedings will help the victim’s family in their healing journey. We are grateful for their trust and support throughout this investigation.”
IHIT credited its collaboration with other police and prosecutorial partners for the resolution of the case, calling it a “significant outcome” for the community and the victim’s loved ones.
Case Dates Back to 2022 South Surrey Violence
In November 2023, following an extensive investigation, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of first-degree murder against Campbell.
At that time, Campbell was already in custody for an unrelated incident — a July 2022 shooting at South Surrey Athletic Park that left two people dead and another injured.
