Police in Surrey are investigating an early morning shooting outside a South Surrey restaurant — the latest in a series of incidents targeting businesses across the region.
Around 2:20 a.m., shots were fired outside Ustaad G76 on King George Boulevard near 156 Street. Officers say no staff were inside at the time, but the building’s exterior sustained visible damage.
Investigators remained at the scene through Monday morning, collecting evidence and canvassing nearby businesses for security footage and witnesses.
This is not the first Ustaad G76 restaurant to come under fire. Just last week, a location in Maple Ridge — at 21768 Lougheed Highway — was found with bullet holes in its front windows.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected, but both are being investigated as part of the region’s broader probe into recent extortion-related shootings that have targeted several South Asian-owned businesses.
No injuries have been reported, and police are urging anyone with information to contact the Surrey RCMP or the Surrey Police Service tip line.
