The City of Surrey marked National Seniors Day with three days of vibrant community celebrations honouring the invaluable contributions of seniors to families, neighbourhoods, and the city’s cultural fabric.
Festivities across Surrey featured music, dance, and intergenerational activities aimed at recognizing the role seniors play in shaping community life. Mayor Brenda Locke emphasized that the celebration was not only a tribute but also a reminder to confront ageism and promote inclusion.
“This day reminds us that we must continue working together to ensure every senior in Surrey feels valued, respected, and supported,” Locke said.
The events highlighted Surrey’s ongoing commitment to building an age-friendly, inclusive city — one that celebrates the wisdom, experience, and vitality of its senior residents.
