A striking two-tower development proposed for the northwest corner of 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard in Whalley will soon face its next big step — a public hearing at Surrey City Hall on October 20.
The project, led by King George Blvd Holdings Ltd., spans several properties along both streets and would replace an existing commercial complex and a place of worship.
If approved, the plan calls for two high-rises — 52 and 48 storeys — combining 879 residential units with retail and office spaces. The taller tower will include 464 strata homes, while the second will feature 415 units above a podium of shops and offices. Developers expect completion by December 2030.
At the recent land use meeting, Mayor Brenda Locke described the proposal as “a very ambitious and beautiful project that will transform the area.”
The same hearing will also consider a four-tower development in Surrey’s downtown core, proposed at University Drive and 108 Avenue, featuring two mixed-use and two residential towers up to 44 storeys high. Together, the projects reflect Surrey’s rapidly growing urban skyline and renewed investment in Whalley’s city centre.
