A stunning two-tower project could reshape Surrey’s skyline. Learn about the vision, details, and what’s next for this ambitious development.
Surrey’s Next Landmark: Two Towers Set to Transform Whalley
Big changes are coming to Surrey’s cityscape! A bold two-tower development planned for the northwest corner of 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard is gaining momentum — and it’s already being called “a very ambitious and beautiful project” by Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke.
After passing its second reading during the September 29 land use meeting, the proposal is officially moving toward a public hearing on October 20 at City Hall.
A Vision for Vertical Living
The development, owned by King George Blvd Holdings Ltd., will replace the existing small commercial complex and place of worship at 13534–13576 King George Boulevard and 13483–13511 108 Avenue.
If approved, the site will become home to two sleek high-rises:
- A 52-storey residential tower featuring 464 market strata units
- A 48-storey mixed-use tower offering retail and office space below and 415 residential units above
Altogether, that’s 879 new homes designed to bring life, style, and opportunity to the Whalley area. The developers anticipate that the buildings could be ready for occupancy by December 2030.
Another Major Project on the Horizon
But that’s not all that’s happening in Surrey’s booming downtown. Another massive four-tower project is also heading to a public hearing on the same day — October 20 at 7 p.m.
This proposal features:
- Two 40-storey towers
- Two 44-storey towers
- Located at University Drive and 108 Avenue
Together, they’ll bring an impressive 1,800 new residential units to the city.
“This is a very, very exciting one for the City of Surrey,” said Mayor Locke. “Just so people know, this is a Surrey City Development Corporation project — and that’s very, very exciting.”
Building a Bold Future for Surrey
From sleek skyscrapers to thriving new neighborhoods, Surrey is rapidly transforming into one of Metro Vancouver’s most dynamic urban centers. With these projects in motion, the city is setting its sights high — quite literally.
Both public hearings will be held at Surrey City Hall, 13450–104 Avenue, where residents can share their thoughts on the developments shaping the city’s skyline.
