The Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade (SWRBOT) was officially launched Thursday (Oct. 2) at Morgan Creek Golf Course, marking the historic merger of two of the region’s leading business organizations.
The event unveiled a new logo, brand identity, and website (swrbot.com), symbolizing what organizers called “a new era” for the region’s business community. With the merger of the Surrey Board of Trade and the South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce, SWRBOT is now one of the largest chambers/boards of trade in Canada.
“This is more than an administrative change,” said Rory Morgan, board chair. “It’s the uniting of two strong business voices into one. Together, we have the scale, reach, and influence to better advocate for our members, attract investment, and build a thriving economy that benefits all of Surrey and White Rock.”
The new logo integrates a circle from the Surrey Board of Trade’s identity with upward arrows from the former South Surrey & White Rock Chamber, creating “one unified identity.”
“The icon reflects connection, collaboration, and forward momentum — qualities that define both Surrey and White Rock,” explained CEO Joslyn Young, who described the merger as “the start of a new era for businesses in our region.”
Young was appointed CEO of Surrey Board of Trade earlier this year while also serving as acting executive director of the South Surrey & White Rock Chamber. In June, members of the new SWRBOT board were introduced at a milestone AGM in South Surrey.
With this merger, SWRBOT says it will focus on advocacy, innovation, and connecting leaders to support economic growth and community prosperity across Surrey and White Rock.
