Rock for a Cause: ’80s Tribute Hits Surrey Stage

Surrey rocks for a cause as Coast to Coast returns Sept. 27 with an electrifying ’80s tribute show at Surrey Arts Centre, raising funds for Surrey Food Bank.

Coast to Coast returns to Surrey Arts Centre Sept. 27 with an electrifying ’80s rock tribute, raising funds for Surrey Food Bank.

A Night of Music with a Mission

Surrey is about to get loud—and for a great reason. On Saturday, September 27, the Surrey Arts Centre will transform into a rock arena as Coast to Coast takes the stage for their second benefit concert in support of the Surrey Food Bank.

This isn’t just another gig. It’s a night designed to bring people together, crank up the nostalgia, and raise money for an organization that helps thousands of families across the city.

Coast to Coast: Keeping the ’80s Alive

The tribute band Coast to Coast is no stranger to Surrey crowds. Known for their powerful renditions of Scorpions, UFO, and Michael Schenker Group (MSG), the group has already built a loyal following. Just last year, they raised $3,300 at the same venue—and this time, they’re aiming even higher.

“Last year’s response blew us away,” said band manager Larry Anschell. “We’re hoping to top that total with another sold-out show.”

Over the summer, the band kept their energy sharp, playing huge community events like Surrey’s Canada Day party in Cloverdale and the Fusion Festival at Holland Park.

What to Expect on Stage

Before the guitars roar to life, DJ Larry Hennessey from JACK-FM will warm up the audience with an ’80s playlist guaranteed to set the mood. Then, Coast to Coast—featuring vocalist Shawn Klatt, guitarists Dave Groves and Ken Scheller, bassist Tobias Haas, and drummer Ed Johnson—will deliver a night packed with classics like Rock You Like a Hurricane and The Zoo.

If you love big riffs, soaring vocals, and fist-pumping anthems, this show promises to hit all the right notes.

How to Be Part of It

The concert takes place on the Main Stage at Surrey Arts Centre, which seats just over 400 fans. Tickets are already on sale:

  • $45 for adults
  • $35 for students

You can grab yours online at tickets.surrey.ca or by calling 604-501-5580.

Rock, Give, Repeat

Every ticket sold helps the Surrey Food Bank continue its vital work. So, if you’ve been waiting for the perfect excuse to relive the glory days of ’80s rock, this is it. Come for the music, stay for the cause, and leave knowing you made a difference.
