Crane Rodeo Returns to Surrey with Biggest Show Yet

Surrey’s Falcon Crane Rodeo returns Sept. 6 with thrilling contests, family fun, free food, and Canada’s largest crane competition.

Crane Rodeo Returns to Surrey with Biggest Show Yet

Surrey gears up for Canada’s biggest Crane Rodeo

The wait is over—Surrey is bringing back its most unique event, the Crane Rodeo, hosted by Falcon Equipment in Port Kells. On September 6, crane operators from across the country will battle for prizes, bragging rights, and a coveted first-place title in what has become the largest knuckle boom crane competition in Canada.

What makes the Crane Rodeo different

Unlike straight-boom cranes, knuckle boom cranes feature a second jointed arm, creating more agility and challenge. This year’s rodeo will spotlight operators navigating obstacle courses, showing off precision, and competing head-to-head in brand-new surprise events. Falcon’s team promises a bigger course, tougher challenges, and more excitement than ever before.

A family-friendly community celebration

Beyond the machinery battles, the Falcon yard transforms into a community festival. Families can enjoy face-painting, games, a bouncy castle, and giveaways. Free food trucks will keep spectators energized, while multiple viewing areas let fans follow every crane showdown up close. With activities for all ages, the rodeo is designed as much for curious visitors as for industry insiders.

The tradition continues in Surrey

First launched several years ago by Falcon’s team, the Crane Rodeo quickly grew into a popular annual tradition. Each year brings fresh competitions like Hook n’ Hoop or Rail Spike Throwdown, drawing large crowds eager to witness crane skills in action. Organizers say this year will be the biggest yet, combining competition with camaraderie in Surrey’s expansive Falcon Equipment yard.

Event details for 2025

The 4th annual Falcon Crane Rodeo takes place Saturday, Sept. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 18412 96th Avenue in Port Kells. Admission is free, but attendees must pre-register online at falconequip.com to secure a spot.
