A Championship Season for White Rock

The White Rock 13U AAA Tritons ended their 2025 season in spectacular fashion, winning the provincial championship and representing British Columbia at the Canadian Nationals in Woodstock, Ontario. Despite finishing seventh nationally, the young squad’s resilience and dominance throughout the year made them one of the province’s most successful youth baseball teams.

Strong Foundations Built Early

Head coach Michael Carriere, who also serves as president of the White Rock South Surrey Baseball Association, said the team’s potential was evident from January tryouts. “This group showed resilience and grit in close contests, posting a 12-4 record in games decided by two runs or fewer,” Carriere noted. Depth across the roster proved key to their success.

Regular Season Brilliance

The Tritons finished with a 30-6 record against tough provincial competition. Standout performances included Spencer Houle leading in home runs (5) and RBIs (48), Sam Dieleman anchoring the defense with a .933 fielding percentage and 10 double plays, and Brendan Bourgoin leading in stolen bases (25) and hard-hit balls (52).

Battling Through Provincials

Despite a tough opening loss to Victoria, the Tritons bounced back with grit. Ace pitcher Jude Carriere dominated in their second matchup, while clutch hitting from Austin Carpenter and Eli Dueck propelled the team forward. A decisive win over Vancouver, highlighted by Karsten Schnitzer’s late double, secured their semi-final berth.

Triumph in the Final

In the provincial championship game, Houle’s pitching set the tone, supported by a strong defensive effort including a diving catch from Kyler Bittner. Offensively, Schnitzer, Ryder Shuto, and Dueck drove in key runs as White Rock captured gold with a 10-6 victory over Victoria, earning a spot at nationals.

National Stage in Ontario

The Tritons carried their momentum to Woodstock, Ontario, to compete against the country’s top 13U teams. Though they finished seventh overall, the experience marked a milestone for the players, many of whom contributed in crucial ways throughout the season.

Building for the Future

Coaches praised the team’s determination, unity, and growth, crediting every player for the championship run. With talent spread across the roster and valuable national experience now under their belts, the White Rock 13U AAA Tritons have set a high bar for future seasons.
