Cloverdale Gears Up for 2025 Football Season

Local players ready for action

The Cloverdale Community Football Association (CCFA) is preparing to kick off its 2025 fall season with the annual Cloverbowl pre-season tournament, scheduled for Aug. 16–17 at Cloverdale Athletic Park. Players, coaches, and volunteers have been training and preparing rigorously for the season opener.

Community-driven kickoff event

CCFA president Yeera Sami emphasized the excitement surrounding the season’s start. “The teams are eager to hit the field after months of training and practices,” Sami said, highlighting the effort and energy invested by the club’s participants.

Supporting a good cause

The Surrey Central Lions Club will run a concession during the weekend event, with all proceeds going to local organizations in need. In addition, attendees are encouraged to donate non-perishable items for the Surrey Food Bank, combining sports enthusiasm with community support.

Building on last year’s success

CCFA comes off a strong 2024 season, with Cloverdale teams competing in three provincial finals and securing two championship titles. Sami said the club is motivated to maintain its winning streak while providing a positive experience for youth athletes.

Encouraging community engagement

Sami invites local residents to attend, watch the games, and support the players. “We hope the community comes out to cheer, enjoy exciting football, and contribute to a great cause,” he added.

Looking ahead to the season

With pre-season competition setting the tone, CCFA aims to continue developing youth talent, promote teamwork, and strengthen ties between sports and community involvement. Full details on programs and registration are available at cloverdalefootball.ca.
