Crowds Flock to Chilliwack’s Long-Running Summer Tradition

The summer heat didn’t stop thousands of visitors from pouring into Chilliwack Heritage Park this past weekend for one of British Columbia’s most beloved traditions — the Chilliwack Fair. Now in its incredible 153rd year, this annual event has earned its spot as B.C.’s second-oldest continuously running fair, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down.

New Acts Bring Fresh Energy

This year’s fair brought exciting newcomers to the lineup. The Extreme Dogs stunt show had the crowd cheering as talented pups leapt, flipped, and raced through daring obstacle courses. Guests also got to meet a gentle Highland cow, watch a lively roller-skating demo, and enjoy plenty of other fresh surprises.

Classic Favourites Still Shine

While new acts grabbed attention, long-time traditions kept the heart of the fair beating. Visitors took in 4-H competitions, admired miniature horses, and explored fascinating military displays. Antique farm equipment stood proudly on display, telling the story of Chilliwack’s agricultural roots.

Fun for Every Age

The fairgrounds buzzed with carnival rides, kids’ activities, and live entertainment. From squeals on spinning rides to the smiles of little ones feeding animals, the Chilliwack Fair once again proved it’s an event that brings the whole community together.

More Than Just a Fair

For locals and visitors alike, the Chilliwack Fair is more than a weekend event — it’s a cherished tradition that blends the excitement of new attractions with the comfort of familiar favorites. And judging by the happy crowds, the magic is set to keep flying high for years to come.
