The North Delta Minor Hockey Association is set to host its much-anticipated used equipment sale on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to noon. Taking place at the Delta Thistle Curling Club inside the North Delta Recreation Centre (11415 84th Ave.), the event promises affordable gear for hockey, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, golf, football, and more.
With hockey season fast approaching, families are on the lookout for quality gear without breaking the bank. Organizers say the sale’s timing couldn’t be better, offering new and returning players a chance to prepare for the season while recycling unused equipment back into the community. All proceeds will directly support the minor hockey association, easing costs for families with kids in local sports programs.
In addition to great deals, shoppers will receive complete hockey equipment checklists—ideal for families stepping into the sport for the first time. The community is encouraged to donate gently used sports gear, with drop-offs accepted at the curling club on Thursday, Aug. 21 (6–8 p.m.) and Friday, Aug. 22 (6–9 p.m.). For those unable to make it, a pickup can be arranged by emailing pa@ndhockey.com.
This annual tradition blends community spirit with sustainability, ensuring every child gets the chance to play without financial barriers. It’s more than a sale—it’s a celebration of sport and support for local youth.
