Serious Crash Shuts Down Westbound TransCanada Highway
A multi-vehicle collision has forced the closure of the westbound lanes of the TransCanada Highway in central Langley. According to Langley RCMP, the crash occurred on Thursday, August 7, at approximately 5:46 p.m., near the 24700-block of Highway 1. One person was taken to hospital in serious condition, and officers remain on scene conducting a detailed investigation.
Police Investigation Underway
Langley RCMP, along with British Columbia Highway Patrol, are managing the scene while the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) assists with the investigation. Sgt. Zynal Sharoom confirmed that traffic is being diverted at the 264 Street exit, and the closure could last several hours. Drivers are being strongly advised to avoid the area.
Call for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone with dashcam footage from the time of the crash. Individuals who were in the vicinity are urged to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200, quoting file number 2025-25738. This crash marks the second serious Highway 1 incident in August to cause significant travel lane closures.
