Running until November 2, “20 Years of South Asian Arts: A Photographic Journey” marks not one but two exciting anniversaries: 20 years of the South Asian Arts Society and 10 years of the Monsoon Festival of Performing Arts. It’s a double celebration that promises rhythm, color, and cultural pride.
A Tapestry of Tradition in Motion
Step into the Community Rails Space at the gallery in Newton and you’ll be greeted by photographs that do more than decorate the walls — they tell stories. “It Feels Like Coming Home
For Gurpreet Sian, Executive Director of South Asian Arts Society, this exhibit is deeply personal. “I’m thrilled to share these unforgettable memories with the Surrey community — where our journey began,” he said. “It feels like a true homecoming.”
And it really is. Founded in 2005, the Society has grown into a cultural cornerstone, continuously evolving through collaborative performances and programs. It’s not just about preserving culture — it’s about pushing it forward.
