Let the Summer Fun Begin: White Rock Sea Festival is Back!

Ready for an unforgettable weekend? Grab your shades, sunscreen, and sense of adventure—White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days are making waves once again! Set against the stunning backdrop of Semiahmoo Bay, this cherished waterfront celebration returns Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3, marking its 74th annual edition. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is the perfect way to soak up the summer vibes.

Three Zones, Endless Entertainment

From the moment you arrive, excitement fills the air. This year, the fun is spread across three vibrant “activation zones”, each offering its own unique experience:

Semiahmoo Park: Culture & Concerts

Overlooking the scenic shoreline, Semiahmoo Park is your go-to spot for live music, local Indigenous artisans, food trucks, and family-friendly games. Don’t miss musical tributes to Billy Joel and Elton John by Legacy on Saturday, and a Sunday performance by the country-pop trio The Heels.

East Beach Environmental Zone: Learn & Explore

Love the ocean? Dive into the East Beach Environmental Zone where Parks Canada and the Vancouver Aquarium offer interactive exhibits and marine education for all ages. It’s fun, educational, and absolutely free!

Memorial Park Main Stage: All-Day Music

From 12:30 p.m. each day, Memorial Park’s main stage keeps the party going with non-stop live music. Saturday wraps up with a splash of nostalgia from the California Surf Club, featuring former members of the Beach Boys. On Sunday, the soulful rhythms of Sade Awele bring the weekend to a smooth close.

Parade, Races & Fireworks: Don’t Miss These Crowd Faves

Some traditions just never get old. Two classic highlights return:

  • Waiters’ Race (Saturday evening): Watch as local servers dash with full trays in this lively competition.
  • Torchlight Parade (Saturday at 8:30 p.m.): A glowing spectacle along Marine Drive from Oxford Street to Semiahmoo Park.

And just when you think it can’t get any better—Sunday night ends with a dazzling fireworks show at 10:15 p.m., lighting up the sky and reflecting off the water for a picture-perfect finale.

Getting There: Go Green

All events are free and open to the public. To help keep the coast clean and traffic-free, visitors are encouraged to walk, bike, or take transit.

Your Summer Weekend Starts Now

From surf rock to sustainability, from fireworks to food trucks, the White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days have something for everyone. Come celebrate the spirit of summer—you won’t want to miss a moment.
